Project 3 Part One - HB

The site chosen for the display is at the central courtyard in Commerce Court. One particular reason is that the space isn't interesting as the other spaces in other office complexes. There are no interesting features in this area, apart from the "fountain" in the centre. The fountain is where the work will be displayed because the contrast of the candles (fire) and the fountain surface (water) is an interesting and noticeable.

The placement of candlelights among the water would get attention among visitors in this "gallery". To access to the gallery, wooden platforms will be laid on the fountain to allow observers to walk it on without getting wet.

I am using the same work posted earlier in this blog.
It is called "Now Let's Play to Dissapear II" (2002), made out of candlelights.

Project Three - Amanda Compagnone

I decided to use Sol LeWitt's Splotch #15 because the colour and the shape will contrast the design restrictions for the structure. LeWitt's earlier work is very geometric and clean which I feel would blend in with it's surroundings and eliminate the "wow" factor. As for specific location of my structure I haven't really decided where I would like it, although I will put it outside. I would like to place it around Finch Station because I know the area really well and there is a lot of empty usable space. I have decided to focus first on the elements of structure and then focus on the specific place, and adjust the structure accordingly.

Some spaces I'm considering:

Toronto Conevention Centre-Round Park House

For figuring out how to make it I used logos out of foam and clay to find the figuration.

I have shown traditional and modern architect design in two diffent side. If we look at from north-south we see a very abstract, rectangular design. But if we look at from south to north, we see a classical design.
